Venus in Service
by Faerie Maven-Pralou
She is silent as a mouse
Though you hear her throughout the house
Moving from room to room
She is on a mission
To clean up the kitchen
Before the clock strikes noon
What would we do in our life of leisure
Without the help of our dear appeasers
Who wait on us hand and foot
They make our beds and shine our shoes
Iron our shirts and fetch our booze
Without a complaint or a hoot
Never must we wait
To take up a plate
Nor wait for our port to be be poured
Your cars always waiting
Always anticipating
Handing you your hat at the door
